La Roque-Gageac

Stunningly located on the north side of the Dordogne river, sandwiched between steep cliffs and the river, La Roque-Gageac is a near-perfect medieval French village. Honey-coloured stone houses, in the traditional Perigord style, lining the river and a troglodyte fort set in the cliffs 45 metres above, frame this amazing tableau. No wonder La Roque-Gageac is such a magnet for discerning visitors!

You can use La Roque-Gageac as a base to visit all of the Perigord, the valleys of the Dordogne and the Lot rivers, the incredible sites of Beynac, Domme, Sarlat, the Cahors vineyards and much, much more. All are within an hour's drive.
